Parenting

Parenting shapes—and is shaped by—every other aspect of life. Our practitioners support parents and caregivers through the full arc of the parenting journey, from early childhood through the teen and young adult years, and through the many transitions in between.

Parenting-focused work can include individual therapy, parent consultation and coaching, co-parenting support, parent involvement in child therapy, and parent-child intervention models such as PCIT and filial therapy. Sessions may address challenges parents are having with their children’s emotional outbursts, tantrums, and problematic behaviors, as well as ways to support children exhibiting signs of anxiety and depression. Sessions may also include education on child development, effective communication, parenting neurodiverse or highly sensitive children, and an exploration of temperamental differences. Parents are also invited to reflect on their own upbringing and consider ways their child’s behaviors may be unknowingly triggering emotions tied to those early experiences.

Our aim is to help parents feel more confident, connected, and grounded in the parenting role—while also having room to be fully themselves. Parenting is hard; parents deserve real support.
