Our Commitment to Accessibility

The Resiliency Center of Greater Philadelphia is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and voice recognition software. Accessibility is part of how we care for our community, and we work to improve it on an ongoing basis.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content may not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working toward full conformance.

What We Are Doing

Measures we take to support accessibility on this website include:

  • Designing with color contrast that meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.2 AA minimum of 4.5:1 for body text
  • Using body text of at least 16 pixels that can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or function
  • Making all interactive elements operable by keyboard, with visible focus indicators
  • Providing text alternatives for meaningful images, including practitioner photos
  • Using clear headings, consistent navigation, and descriptive link text throughout the site
  • Sizing touch targets to at least 44 by 44 pixels for comfortable use on mobile devices
  • Avoiding auto-playing media, flashing content, and intrusive pop-ups
  • Reviewing new content and features for accessibility before publication

Compatibility

This website is designed to be compatible with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) and with common assistive technologies, including screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver. The site relies on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; it is not fully accessible if JavaScript is disabled.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. This can include older blog posts migrated from our previous website and documents or media provided by third parties. If you encounter content you cannot access, please contact us and we will provide the information in an alternative format.

Physical Accessibility

Information about physical accessibility at our offices, including parking and elevator access, is available on our location pages for Flourtown and Schwenksville. If you have questions about accommodations for an in-person visit, please reach out before your appointment and we will do our best to help.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you experience an accessibility barrier or have a suggestion for improvement, please let us know through our contact form. Please include the web address (URL) of the page and a description of the problem. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days.
